Job Description: Laboratory Technician (Lab Tech) Ultimate Choice Staffing is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Laboratory Technician to join our team of healthcare professionals. As a Lab Tech, you will play a crucial role in conducting various laboratory tests and procedures to support accurate and timely medical diagnoses. This position will be based in a clinical or medical laboratory setting, and your expertise will directly contribute to improving patient care and outcomes. Responsibilities: Perform Laboratory Tests: Conduct a wide range of laboratory tests, including but not limited to blood tests, urine analysis, tissue and fluid cultures, and other diagnostic examinations. Adhere to standard operating procedures and safety protocols during testing. Sample Collection and Preparation: Properly collect, label, and prepare specimens for analysis, ensuring accuracy and proper handling of samples. Operate Laboratory Equipment: Calibrate, maintain, and operate laboratory equipment and instruments used for testing. Troubleshoot issues and ensure equipment is functioning accurately. Record and Document Results: Accurately record and document test results, maintain proper documentation, and organize data for review and analysis. Ensure all records and reports are properly filed and accessible. Quality Control: Perform routine quality control checks to validate the accuracy and precision of laboratory tests. Identify and address any deviations from established standards. Maintain Clean and Safe Laboratory Environment: Keep the laboratory area clean, organized, and compliant with safety regulations. Properly dispose of hazardous materials and adhere to infection control protocols. Collaborate with Healthcare Professionals: Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide essential laboratory information for patient diagnoses and treatment plans. Continuous Professional Development: Stay updated with advancements in laboratory techniques, technologies, and best practices. Attend workshops, conferences, and training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge. Qualifications: Education and Certification: Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a related field. Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) is preferred. Laboratory Experience: Prior experience working in a clinical or medical laboratory setting is advantageous. New graduates with relevant laboratory internships or practicum experience will also be considered. Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to interpret test results accurately and troubleshoot technical issues. Attention to Detail: High level of precision and attention to detail to ensure accurate test results and proper documentation. Communication Skills: Effective verbal and written communication skills to interact with healthcare professionals and accurately convey laboratory findings. Time Management: Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently, prioritize work, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced laboratory environment.
